Gustavo Aguerre was born in 1953 in Buenos Aires in Argentina. He founded South America’s first underground magazine, 5010501 in 1972. The magazine was markedly revolutionary in nature at that point in time with its anarchistic touch. He went on to pursue his studies at the Munich Art Academy two years later. His artistic style was enhanced as a performance and installation artist. He worked as a curator, photographer, writer and theater designer. He conducted examinations of cultural and social conventions. His art work included large-scale installations in public places. This Argentinean artist mostly renowned for FA+, the art collective which he established in Stockholm in Sweden. He set it up along with Ingrid Falk, his Swedish wife (also an artist) in 1992. The collective has produced extensive installations of video, photographic projects, internet works and sculpture across Europe in many public spaces. The FA+’s work frequently examines cultural and social conventions in a humorous manner. These include political and geographical boundaries, and draw attention to issues revolving around human trafficking, asylum legislation and immigration.
