Background:

Sir Arnold Bax was born in 1883 to a rich couple in London and was one of the eminent English poets of modern period. His compositions imbibed prewar world of Debussy, Ravel, and Stravinsky. Arnold Bax called himself as “brazen romantic poet” and was almost the last Romantic writer of European school of composers. His compositions were based on musical notes and orchestral transcripts.
Arnold Bax was greatly influenced by W.B.Yeats, patron and pioneer of Irish National Theater and also a renowned poet of that era. His writings were derived from Celtic culture and ethics. He wrote all his poems and compositions in the pen name of “Dermot O'Byrne”. He assisted his brother Clifford Bax in publishing a magazine particularly on arts and culture called “Orpheus” in Ireland.
Arnold Bax's first independent composition named as “In the Fairy Hills” is a musical classic with description on nature and was incorporated with orchestral melodies.
