Babylon Salon got started when Tim Crandle recruited four fellow MFA students and friends, Laurie Doyle, Timothy Rien, Lindsay Tam Holland, and Maury Zeff, to help realize his vision of a literary salon that went beyond the straight literary. Babylon Salon is a community of performers, readers, writers, imbibers (of spirits and spirit), and revelers. From published authors to up and coming writers, from the contemplative to the percussive, from the long-form poet to the chainsaw juggler, from the quiet literary aficionado to the participative audience member, Babylon Salon is a reading and performance series that brings together all of these people and more in a celebration of expression, life, the arts and each other. We welcome new audience members and artists to enjoy and participate in our events. Our community is our greatest source of reading and performing talent. First thing is to check out one of our salons and make sure you say hi while you're there!
