Moving into its 21st year, Gator Beat plays full-tilt party dance music. The group’s mostly original songs are powered by its own gumbo of dance rhythms: a blend of Louisiana Cajun and zydeco, a touch of New Orleans funk, and, as the band itself proclaims, “a beat that bites.” Tunes come from the six Gator Beat recordings, including the recent live CD “Gimme Some Mo’,” which captures a wild Mardi Gras show in Sonoma.
