he vibrant violinist Arabella Steinbacher returns to the SFS, performing Tchaikovskyâ€Â™s fiery and firework-filled Violin Concerto under the baton of the esteemed Charles Dutoit. Bartókâ€Â™s brilliant Concerto for Orchestra is written not for a particular solo instrument but treats the entire orchestra as soloists. The Concerto for Orchestra has been a staple of the orchestral repertoire since its premiere in 1944, and Dutoitâ€Â™s interpretation of it has been called â€Âœelectrifying” and â€Âœimpeccable” (Gramophone).
