Description:

Believe it or not (and you better believe it), until a few years ago, gay club music was a monolith, a Spandexed, Botoxed, over-toxed Easter Island rictus of fake-techno squeals and outrageous divas. There's nothing inherently wrong with that (except: yawn), and as far as such a thing called "gay club music" exists, the Gaga-Rihanna-Madonna industrial complex still reigns.... show moremore

When I was young and had all the time in the world I used to frequently visit The Paradise. I have been a regular visitor of this place and have seen many rock shows but this place has been totally different and much better than other shows. The set up is good acoustically and it’s easy to get a good view of the show. But now things seem to have changed and changed drastically! The opening band was supposed to go on at 8 pm and the doors were to be open by 7 pm and to our surprise the doors were still closed at 10 PM. It was the limit of testing our patience and we decided to make our way to our house. I had called this place to enquire about everything and every time I had a crappy phone interaction with the staff. I was shocked at the fact that the staff was so rude! And on top of it there wasn’t any sign of any apology from their side for the delay caused! There were no traces of any staff outside to ask what exactly what was happening and why exactly the show wasn’t even started! There was no staff there to respond to our queries! We were misled every time we called. Second time we called we were told that the doors were open, but I literally was standing outside and saw that the doors were not open. It really doesn’t matter if you are a rock venue, a bar, a salon. The most important thing is that you need people who answer you queries and attend to all the complaints and concerns of your customers. So far they haven’t expressed any concern at all! Personally speaking I am really not ok with standing in line for three long hours regardless of what band it is. Neither have I had that kind of enthusiasm nor that kind of energy what I used to have when I was 21. Now I am at this stage when I will think twice before buying the tickets to any show at any venue. For me it’s about the overall experience. I would like to go to a place which has a great music, good food and most importantly great service. I am sure that many 21 year olds would stand in a long queue and wait for hours together to hear their favorite band perform, but I am past this point. I think I will certainly avoid The Paradise.

All I can say about this place is that it’s one of the best places I have ever been to! I have been going to live music venues all over the country but this place completely stands out! It’s one of the few places in the country and probably the only place in Boston where you can see a fabulous show and then go lounge with some great drinks and even better food! The staff here is great with some awesome knowledge of music and the local Boston scene. You can have some delicious food at the Paradise Rock Club and Lounge. They serve food until 1 am!!! The only place in that area that serves you food that late! One can come, enjoy, have great food and drinks and overall have a gala time! Thanks for finally making a Rock Bar to hang out at!
