How do I change my account preferences and privacy settings?
To update your basic account preferences, log in and click on the My Account link that appears at the top of any page. On click of Account settings located in the top right section of the page you will be able to edit your account preferences, privacy setting and email notifications.
How can I change my email address and password?
As a first step, log in and click on the "My Account" link that appears at the top of any page.
To change the Email Address click on the Edit Profile link given in the upper right section of the page.
You need to click on the button "Update Email" and provide your new email address and a message will be sent to your new email address with a verification link. Then you just need to click on the verification link to update your email address.
To Change your Password click on the Change Password link in the section and type in and confirm your new password. On click of "Set New Password" button, you will get a success message confirming your updated password.
What do I do if I get an "incorrect password" message?
First, make sure your caps lock is off and that you've entered everything correctly. If that's all set, try closing the browser and opening it again or clearing the cache. If it still does not work, click on the Forgot your password? link on the Sign in page and follow the instructions for creating a new password.
How do I change my home location?
You can change your home location from the Change Home Location Link that is present at the top of any page.
What is number of profile views?
The Number shown under profile views is the number of people who have viewed your profile.
How do I set my profile to private?
You can set it by changing the options in the Privacy Settings section.
Can I send an email to anyone from weKnow?
No. You cannot send an email to anyone from weKnow other than your friends at weKnow.
How do I cancel/delete my account?
We would like to stay connected with you. Don't leave us!! However, if you must, simply contact us with your email address and we'll take care of it.
In Account Settings, under the Privacy Settings section, there are three options to choose from: "Anybody", "My Friends only" or "Nobody".
How can I update my profile page?
You should be logged in first, and can update your profile in two ways:
Click on Me in the top navigation menu bar from any weKnow web page. Once on your personal home page, click on "Edit Profile" button which appears on the left portion of the page, below your photo. You will be taken to your "Edit Profile" page where you may edit or add your basic information, your interests, profile photos and can also edit your locations.
Click on "My Stuff" button given at the top of any page. You will find edit profile link, which is given next to "View My Page" link, to update your profile. You can update your basic info, interests, profile photos and locations from the Edit profile page.
Do I have to answer all of the profile questions?
No. Except for few mandatory questions, you can choose not to answer as many as you want. However, the more information you fill out, the easier it will be for other users to find you.
What is my Profile URL?
You can have your own profile URL which you will find just below the title of the page besides your photo and can easily share this URL with your friends. You just need to copy and paste this address into emails, forums, other web pages etc.
How can I change my Profile Photo?
It's very simple. Following are the steps to change your profile photo:
Click on the Edit Profile button given below your profile photo, which leads you the edit profile page.
Click on the add/edit photos link given below the profile picture which leads you to the Profile Photos section.
Now, click on the link Set as Default image for the photo you want to set as your default photo and your photo is updated!
How do I choose/change a personal profile page URL?
Go to your profile page and click on Edit Profile button, which is to the left side of the page just below your photo. You will land on the edit profile page. Now, click on Change URL button and follow the instructions. You will receive a success message on change of your Profile URL!
What are Compliments and Comments?
You can get connected with others by just sending compliments and comments. A very easy way to make more friends! Just select the profile and click on Give Compliments or Give Comments link, which is placed just below the profile photo on the left side.
What is First to Review title all about?
First, to review title is given to the users who are the first ones to post the review on any event, venue or performer on our site. This title is visible to others, which makes you very popular among the members and shows your interest in the events. So go ahead and be the first one to post a review, this title will be yours forever.
What is an inappropriate profile?
Profile which consists degratory content, hateful content, antisocial content or censored pictures that are harmful for the society will be considered as inappropriate profile.
Click on the Add an Event button on the events main page.
You will have the option to select if you want to add/promote a public event or add a private event.
On click of any of these, you will see fields to fill out about your event which are explained as follows. These fields will be questions like Title of the event, When, Where, Description, Category, Cost, URL and Photos.
Title -- the name of your event
When -- enter the date and time of the event. If it repeats more than once, click Repeats to extend the event's run time. If this is a weekly event, select the day of the week that it will reoccur on.
Where -- enter where the event will be held. If the venue is currently listed with weKnow then, it will appear below. Click on the appropriate venue. If it is not listed with weKnow then, Click Add Venue and fill in the information.
Description -- Tell everyone what your event is about. Include contact information and event highlights.
Category -- select the category of the event.
Event Photo -- You can upload event photos to boost your event (This is an optional field).
Official URL -- At weKnow if you are posting a Private Party or are a Promoter of an event, you can add a special URL to send out on flyers or in emails to invite more people or add a website url for members to learn more information about the event or organization (This is an optional field).
Cost -- Add the event cost, especially if it is FREE.
How can I see the events I have posted?
Click on My stuff dropdown located at the top right corner of the main page and go to My Events.
What is the best way to maximize views of my event?
Make sure you upload an event photo while adding your event. Does it have an interesting title and description? Make sure it has a venue.
Get some of your friends to sign up and choose it. Also, invite your weKnow friends as well as those who are not yet on the www.weknow.com yet.
Where do you get all these events?
They come from you - our members, as well as our partners, and yes, we crawl the web too. However, the best events come from you.
We collect event information through individuals, partners and crawling. We take privacy and copyright protection very seriously and do everything possible to respect both. If you have any concerns regarding the event information on weKnow, contact us and we will address the issue as quickly as possible.
Do you have videos for the event?
Yes. We have videos which are streamed directly from YouTube which can help you to figure out what the performance will be all about before actually attending the event.
Click on the Invite Friends link which is located at the top of the page. Fill the details in the Invite Friend page and click on the "Send Invite" link.
Click on the People tab where you will find the Invite Your Friends section on the left side, click on it and you will land up in the Invite Friend page. Fill up the details and click on the Send Invite link.
How do I add a friend?
Step 1: Go to the profile page of the user.
Step 2: Click on the "Add as My Friend" button below the profile photo.
How do I find my friends in weKnow.com?
To find your friends in weKnow.com you can use the Member Search area in the lounge page.
Here in the search area, just enter your friend's name (as it is entered in weKnow.com)
How do I make one of my friend as a "Top Friend"?
All the friends added by you will be called as top friends by default. Top friends to be displayed on your profile page depend on the number you have selected from the options.
e.g. Suppose you have selected four as an option, then first four friends added will be called as top friends by default. Now, if you want to add some other friend as a top friend, you can do it by clicking Make a Top Friend link which will further ask you to select a number from your existing top friends list.
Where can I view the friend requests received?
You can view all the received friend requests under the Friend Request tab in the Manage Friends section.
How do I withdraw a friend request?
Go to "My Requests" tab from Manage Friends section. Click on "Withdraw Request" button on the right of the friend request message. The Friend Request is seen only if the user has not yet accepted the request.
Why am I not seen in the Recently Active Members list?
To be listed in the Recently Active members list, you need to complete your profile with all the details.
This can be done by following a simple 3-step process:
Step 1: Go to the particular member profile page.
Step 2: Click on the Block Member link. A confirmation popup will appear.
Step 3: Click on the "Yes" button and you are done with blocking the member.
Where do I report Inappropriate Content?
If you feel, there is some inappropriate content on the site just click on the link Report as inappropriate at the bottom of the section.
Are you having Image issues?
First, make sure the image you are attempting to upload is in .jpeg format which weKnow accepts. Next, make sure the filename is simple and short, with no spaces or funny characters. "Image.jpeg" is a good filename "Me at the beach! drinking some Coors~~.jpeg" is probably not going to work. Next, make sure the file is less than 600k. We do not allow images over 600k. If none of these tips help, it's possible that the image is corrupted.
Someone on weKnow is bugging/harassing/threatening me - what can I do about it?
Remove the person from your Friend List, which means that they will then no longer be able to add Comments to your Profile page, delete any Comments they leave on your Profile page, and you can delete any messages they send you via the weKnow Mail system without opening them. The best of all is just IGNORE them.
You may also block the user who is harassing you by visiting his profile and click on Block User link, which will prevent them from contacting you. Annoying people get bored very fast when you don't allow them to annoy you. If someone threatens you, contact law enforcement immediately.
